Since its inception 23 years ago, the mission of the Global Best Practices Conference has been to both educate and inspire restaurant operators to pursue conscious capitalism and do business better, as well as to celebrate those who are actually accomplishing this feat. This mission remains true today. Black Box Intelligence (formerly TDn2K)’s purpose is to provide the torches that will light the way for restaurants going forward, resulting not only in success in the marketplace but also in a global impact.
The speakers who took the stage at the conference this year offered up a number of torches. Employee engagement expert Jason Lauritsen joined us again to share the “why” and “how” of employee engagement through genuine relationships. Roy Spence, chairman of GSD&M and The Purpose Institute, shared the importance of finding your purpose and his vision for building a better America. Union Square Hospitality Group founder and CEO, Danny Meyer, shared the essence of leadership and building a strong, united company culture and team.
